How fresh is the data?

Solarflare is built on continuous network testing — observations are aggregated daily, and last_seen is exposed on every record so your risk model can weight fresh signals more heavily than older ones.

How does Solarflare differ from MaxMind, IPinfo, or other IP intelligence vendors?

It's complementary, not a replacement. Solarflare adds a fresh observed-behaviour dimension — has this IP recently appeared in proxy infrastructure? — that static IP databases tend to lag on. Most teams run both alongside each other.

What does the confidence score actually mean?

Confidence (low / medium / high) reflects how many independent observations support the signal, how recent they are, and how cleanly the IP's behaviour matches proxy infrastructure patterns. Low-confidence is good for step-up verification; high-confidence is safe for hard blocks.

Do you reveal which underlying provider an IP came from?

No. The useful signal is whether an IP has been observed behaving like proxy infrastructure — not naming the underlying source. This keeps Solarflare focused on what's actionable for your risk decisions.

Can I bulk-lookup historical IP logs?

Yes. Pro and Enterprise plans include a bulk endpoint with async jobs and webhook callbacks. Submit millions of IPs in CSV or JSONL and receive a structured match report with per-IP signals and aggregate stats.

What happens if I exceed my plan's lookup quota?

If you expect to need more than your plan covers, get in touch and we'll size a plan around your actual workload. We'd rather scope volume up front than surprise you with overage fees, and we don't hard-cap customers mid-incident — just reach out to sales and we'll work it out.

How does Solarflare handle privacy and legal context?

Solarflare exposes an observational signal about IP addresses — no personally identifiable information, no end-user attribution. Customer agreements include acceptable-use commitments. Privacy and terms documents are linked in the footer.
